Patricia Chin-Sweeney
Patricia brings 18 years of business strategy, international development and investment experience to the AlphaMundi Foundation. She is former Co-Founder of I-DEV International, one of the early strategy and investment advisory firms to emerging markets SMEs, startups, investors and development programs focused on innovative solutions to poverty alleviation and market development. Under her leadership, I-DEV supported clients in 45 countries across 5 continents and catalyzed over $100M in capital. While at I-DEV, Patricia launched and built I-DEV Africa Ltd., the Kenya- affiliate to I-DEV International. For the last 14 years, Patricia has consulted for 17 investors and startup accelerators, as well as led consulting teams to support SME growth, partnerships and future competitiveness strategy. In 2022, Patricia was a Senior Consultant supporting the AlphaMundi Group and its AlphaJiri Africa fund to invest in leading agriculture, food and renewable energy companies.
Patricia began her career in investment banking and mergers & acquisitions in New York City. She holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business in Global Business and Social Innovation & Impact, and a BA from Barnard College, the Women's College of Columbia University in Environmental Science. She has been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) twice for Singularity University, the Silicon Valley innovation think tank focused on building solutions to improve the lives of 1+Billion people, and she has lectured at Stanford University, Imperial College Business School as well as Middlebury Institute of International Studies. She currently serves on the Steering Committee of 100 Women in Finance, one of the largest volunteer-led non-profits committed to advancing women in finance and finance leadership roles around the world.
